Abstract
Nursing personnel comprise the largest proportion of medical system in almost every country. One of the main issues in nursing is low job satisfaction, which can lead to decreasing quality of care, turnover of nurses, and increase in absenteeism. Nursing staff shortage is a global problem. Thus, in this study the relationship between daily self-management, job resources and job engagement for nurses of Sasan hospital and Firoozgar in Tehran was investigated. This study was conducted for a sample of 202 people from these two hospitals. As for data collection, Hatton and Neck standard questionnaire was used to evaluate self-management, Jackson and Rothman questionnaire was used to study the job resources; Hackman and Oldham questionnaire and also Schaufeli and Bakker questionnaire were applied to investigate job engagement. In order to check for the validity and reliability of the research, confirmatory factor analysis (CAF) and Cronbach's alpha were used, also structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed for testing research hypotheses. Data analysis indicates a significant positive correlation between dimensions of daily self-management and job engagement; also a significant positive relationship is confirmed between daily self-management and job resources, and so is between job resources and employee engagement.
